Text messaging terms for umpire scheduling & management

1 Program Name & Description
UmpDeck is an umpire scheduling and management platform operated by the Bloomfield Baseball League (BBL), accessible at umpdeck.com and through the UmpDeck mobile app.
UmpDeck uses SMS text messaging to coordinate umpire operations for the Bloomfield Baseball League, including game assignments, schedule updates, reminders, availability requests, training notifications, urgent fill-in requests, and other account-related alerts.
2 Consent to Receive Messages
By creating an UmpDeck account and providing your mobile phone number, you consent to receive SMS/MMS text messages from UmpDeck / Bloomfield Baseball League related to your umpire scheduling and management activities.
Consent is not a condition of employment, registration, or any purchase. You may opt out at any time (see Section 6 below).
For umpires under 18, a parent or legal guardian must provide consent on their behalf during the registration process.
3 Types of Messages
You may receive SMS messages including, but not limited to:
- Game assignment notifications and confirmation requests
- Game-day reminders (typically sent the day before a scheduled game)
- Urgent fill-in requests when an umpire is needed on short notice
- Monthly availability and scheduling reminders
- Training completion and clearance notifications
- Schedule changes or game cancellations
- Account, payment, and administrative alerts
4 Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on game schedules, your availability, and league activity. During the active baseball season (typically April–August), you may receive approximately 2–10 messages per week. During the off-season, message frequency is minimal to none.
5 Message & Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. Standard messaging and data charges from your wireless carrier may apply to SMS messages sent and received. UmpDeck / Bloomfield Baseball League is not responsible for any fees charged by your mobile carrier. Check with your wireless provider for details on your plan.
6 Opt-Out Instructions
You can opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time using either of the following methods:
Text STOP to the number from which you received the message. You will receive a one-time confirmation message and will no longer receive SMS messages from UmpDeck.
You may also opt out by updating your notification preferences in your UmpDeck account settings or by contacting us at support@umpdeck.com.
Please note: opting out of SMS will not affect email notifications. You will continue to receive email communications regarding your assignments and account.

8 Privacy
Your phone number and personal information are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number or opt-in data with third parties for marketing purposes.
SMS messages are delivered via Twilio, our third-party messaging provider. For full details on how we collect, use, and protect your data, please review our Privacy Policy.
9 Carriers & Liability
SMS messaging is supported on all major U.S. wireless carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. UmpDeck / Bloomfield Baseball League is not responsible for messages that are not delivered due to carrier issues, device incompatibility, or changes to your phone number.
10 Changes to These Terms
We may update these SMS Terms & Conditions from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the SMS messaging service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
